A letter from our executive director

May 2019

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.  You are serving the Lord Christ."

Colossians 3:23-34

This month it has all been about work and specifically workforce development.  Teaching residents and families needed job skills and allowing them opportunities to grow and in turn developing them into employees that can hold down a living wage job.  By giving them the needed skills to succeed we are truly teaching them to fish instead of giving them a fish.  This past month because of your support we were able to increase our workforce development programs, start a wood pallet shop, obtain potential partnerships with local businesses that can hire our families and veterans in need as well as work for the Lord.  At the end of the day that is all that matters.

By giving of your time and finances to Active Grace you are enabling God's work and changing people's lives forever.

I wanted to take this time from our needed work to say thank you for your support and your prayers.  You truly are making a difference!

Ryan Chapman

Executive Director - Active Grace

Two lives forever changed because of your support...

Rome

Rome is deaf. He was just 14 years old when he ran away from home due to cruel treatment from his parents because of his hearing impediment. He moved from Detroit to Indianapolis recently to be closer to his child and found Active Grace.

The latest step in Rome's recovery was getting a job at the McDonald's in Camby. He works from 4:00 AM-4:00 PM, riding his bike or walking the two miles from Camp Camby to get to work. Soon, Rome will have his own car.

Your donations help individuals like Rome.

Roni

Roni's growth since moving to Camp Camby has been phenomenal as she's stayed clean, was baptized, excels in her job, and helps out in various capacities around the camp.

She appreciates the safe environment Camp Camby provides.

"My life is so much better because I don't have fear. I'm not looking over my shoulder thinking someone is out to get me.

I make sure I wake up with a positive attitude every day, thanking God for another chance to do it all over again."

Volunteer Of The Month

Meet Matt....

When I found the Ally program that Active Grace has for its residents I fell in love with it immediately. I contacted someone right away to ask how I can get involved and I'll tell you why...

Five years ago I was a methamphetamine addict who just got clean and left that whole lifestyle and all the people involved behind me. Which was everybody in my life at that time.
